Job summary

Aventia in Hammond, LA is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accounting Technician to support contract billing, project setup, and financial record maintenance in a fast-paced, project-based environment.

The role requires strong Excel skills, experience with Deltek ERP systems, and excellent communication with project managers. This is a full-time, in-office position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, billing, project accounting, or financial administrative support.
• Experience in project-based environments, preferably A&E industry.
• Hands-on experience with Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project setup in the accounting system, including inputting contract terms and billing methods.
• Maintain clear communication with project managers to ensure accurate billing information.
• Generate and submit invoices per client contracts and project milestones.
• Support data entry and maintain accurate project financial records in ERP systems.
• Coordinate with staff to gather documentation for billing and project initiation.
• Monitor billing status and ensure timely invoice processing.
• Review subconsultant invoices for completeness before AP submission.
• Maintain billing logs and reports, including uploads to portals like WAWF where applicable.
• Prepare audit-ready billing and project records with organized backup documentation.
