Job summary

DCCM is seeking a Project Accountant in Houston to oversee the project billing cycle, verify chargeable time, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and billing policy.

Responsibilities include coordinating with Project Managers on contracts and change orders, processing invoices, and keeping thorough project documentation. The role requires clear communication and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business is preferred.
• 2–3 years of billing or project accounting experience.
• Experience in an architectural/engineering environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Project Managers regarding contract documents, change orders, and billing approvals.
• Open projects, proposals and clients in the enterprise system.
• Review contracts for financial terms and ensure accurate project opening documentation.
• Process draft invoices and related documents in electronic billing system.
• Prepare final invoices with required backup and upload to client portals.
• Review consultant invoices and coordinate with PM for approvals.
• Maintain electronic filing of project documents and budget changes.
• Ensure approvals per company policies and clear open items with timely communication.
• Research and reconcile project issues and variances.
• Support Project Managers and perform additional assignments as needed.
