Job summary

ChenMoore, a Fort Lauderdale-based civil engineering firm, seeks a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support budgeting, billing, and financial reporting across multiple project lifecycles.

You will partner with Project Managers to ensure accurate contracts, budgets, and revenue recognition, while maintaining strong controls and timely invoicing to drive profitability and cash flow.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years in a project-based accounting environment.
• Experience in civil engineering, architecture, or professional services preferred.
• Strong understanding of project accounting, billing methods, and budgeting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Set up new projects in the ERP system, including contract values, billing terms, revenue methods, and budgets.
• Monitor project performance, including labor, expenses, consultant costs, and profitability.
• Analyze budget vs. actual performance and earned revenue.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to maintain accurate budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure proper project coding and cost allocation.
