Job summary

Engineering Resources, Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN, seeks a Controller to lead the accounting function for a mid-sized, 65‑employee engineering consulting firm.

You will own close processes, financial reporting, project accounting, billing oversight, cash flow, compliance, and analysis in a project‑driven environment. The Controller serves as the firm's financial anchor, combining hands‑on leadership with strategic support for the principals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience in a leadership role.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Project-based accounting experience in engineering or professional services.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and year-end close processes.
• Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, cash flow reports, and management reporting packages.
• Oversee project accounting, billing, and revenue recognition.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and internal controls; coordinate with external CPA firm.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for principals.
