Job summary

Specialty Systems Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to join our Bloomington, MN team. The role focuses on job costing, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, billing, and collaboration with project managers to keep projects on budget.

You will work with the operations team to ensure accurate financial records, GAAP compliance, and timely close processes. This on-site position offers growth in a mid-sized metal fabrication company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in construction, manufacturing, or project-based accounting.
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP, progress billing, and change orders.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Foundation, or similar ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform job costing for manufacturing and installation projects, allocating costs to materials, labour, subcontractors, equipment, and overhead.
• Collaborate with project managers to input budgets, monitor variances, and support cost control and forecasting.
• Process AP invoices to the correct jobs, manage vendor payments including retainage where applicable.
