AmeriCorps VISTA is seeking a Project AWARE Assistant WRAP VISTA in Oklahoma to strengthen WRAP Boys & Girls Clubs and expand mentoring, education, and family support services. This full-time role focuses on building sustainable systems and expanding partnerships to reduce poverty and promote self-sufficiency.

The position runs 10/19/2026–10/18/2027, located at Wagoner Boys and Girls Club, Tahlequah area, with English language requirements and a pathway to an Education Award or End of

Job description

The WRAP Project, dedicated to Recovery, Assistance, and Prevention, enhances the Oklahoma District 27 area through a thorough revitalization process. This initiative aims to safeguard, improve, and advocate for rural lifestyles, social welfare, cultural engagement, environmental, stewardship, Boys and Girls Clubs, and the preservation of community heritage. This service oppertunity will be located at our Wagoner Boys and Girls club. Through the Boys and Girls Club WRAP provides intervention and supportive services that help reduce risk factors associated with poverty, including school failure, substance misuse, mental health challenges, and social isolation.

Member Duties

The Project AWARE Assistant WRAP VISTA will strengthen WRAP Boys & Girls Clubs and community capacity by developing sustainable systems, enhancing volunteer engagement, expanding partnerships, and improving access to mentoring, education, and family support services that help reduce poverty and promote long-term self-sufficiency.

They will:

• Build organizational capacity through policies, procedures, training resources, and partnerships that improve program effectiveness and sustainability.
• Increase community capacity by recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers to expand services and connect youth and families to needed resources.
• Enhance community and organizational capacity by leveraging resources, strengthening partnerships, and improving infrastructure to provide more effective and sustainable services that support economic stability.
