Job summary

The Great Basin Institute seeks a Project Archivist to join the Cultural Resource Services Program at AZRU and CHCU, based at UNM in Albuquerque, NM. You will appraisal, arrange, and catalog archival records per standards, create a finding aid, and digitize photos for long-term preservation.

Required MLIS or MA with archival experience; CA preferred. Full-time, 21 weeks, 40 hours/week, $30/hour plus comprehensive benefits; background check required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of archival collections and theory.
• Experience with appraisal, accessioning, processing, cataloging and description.

Responsibilities

• Perform collections appraisal per NPS/DOI criteria.
• Arrange, describe and rehouse records to professional standards.
• Produce a 508-compliant PDF finding aid and ArchivesSpace entry.
• Digitize photographs and create metadata per guidelines.
