About the Role

Our client, a reputable architectural practice known for its innovative residential designs, is seeking a dynamic Project Architect to lead projects in Welkom, Free State . This role is central to the design and delivery of high‑quality residential developments, ranging from individual luxury homes to multi‑unit apartment complexes and housing estates. You will be responsible for managing projects from initial concept development through to construction administration, ensuring design integrity, client satisfaction, and project profitability. Key Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and project management for residential and multi‑unit housing developments.
• Develop design concepts, detailed drawings, and specifications for new builds, renovations, and extensions.
• Manage client relationships, consultations, and presentations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other consultants to ensure seamless project execution in Welkom .
• Oversee the construction administration process, including site inspections, responding to RFIs, and reviewing submittals.
• Ensure compliance with the National Building Regulations and relevant local authority requirements in the Free State .
• Manage project budgets and timelines effectively to ensure profitability and client satisfaction.
• Mentor junior architects and designers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in residential architecture and construction.
• Contribute to the firm’s business development activities and proposal preparation.

Requirements

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
• Minimum of 7‑9 years of relevant experience in architectural practice, with a strong portfolio of completed residential projects.
• Proficiency in architectural design and BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).
• Demonstrated experience in managing projects from inception to completion.
• Excellent understanding of South African building codes, planning regulations, and construction methods for residential developments.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a project team.
• Experience working in Welkom or the Free State is advantageous.
• Professional registration with SACAP (PrArch) is required.
