Job description

Fathom Architecture, LLC is a fifteen-person firm working to deliver architectural solutions that elevate everyday experiences in the built environment. We are located in Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market and offer a collaborative work environment with a collegial atmosphere that cultivates professional growth and development.

Our work primarily includes projects with the Department of Defense with a variety of types including administrative, housing, industrial, maintenance, training, transportation, waterfront, and other specialized facilities. These projects involve new construction, renovations, additions, adaptive-reuse, sustainability and energy efficiency, planning, studies and analyses, and historic preservation.

We are also actively working to expand our professional services beyond the federal marketplace to include more private residential, commercial, and adaptive-reuse projects in the Puget Sound region.

We are seeking a project manager/architect.

Full Time Project Manager/Architect Salary:
$78,000 – $119,600 / year

Responsibilities:

  1. Manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity, in all phases of work, inception through completion.
  2. Manage a team of less experienced staff (2 to 4 people).
  3. Effectively communicate with clients, co-workers, consultants, and contractors.
  4. Develop and mentor less experienced staff.
  5. Responsible for quality of all design deliverables, including code analysis, narratives, drawings, and specifications.
  6. Responsible to the principal-in-charge to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
  7. Develop design solutions responding to aesthetic, functional, and technical criteria.
  8. Coordinate all aspects of architectural work with consultants and in-house staff.
  9. Participate in expanding market opportunities.

Qualifications:

  1. Accredited professional architecture degree (B. Arch or M. Arch).
  2. 9+ years of experience in a professional architecture firm.
  3. Architecture license in any U.S. Jurisdiction.
  4. Experience managing project teams.
  5. Thorough understanding of design documents, conceptual through CDs.
  6. Understanding of sustainability concepts.
  7. Familiarity with building and life-safety codes.
  8. Familiarity with detailing and a variety of building systems.
  9. Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp.
  10. Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Desired Skills:

  1. Familiarity with writing specifications.
  2. LEED BD+C or GBI Accredited Professional a plus.
  3. Experience working with federal codes and criteria a plus.
