Job summary

SHKS Architects in Seattle seeks an experienced Project Manager/Project Architect to lead projects through all design and construction phases, from programming and concept design through construction administration.

You will be the primary day-to-day client contact, manage work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets, and mentor team members while upholding design quality. We value collaborative culture and community-centered, sustainable design.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6+ years of professional experience.
  • Professional degree in Architecture is required.
  • Architectural licensure is encouraged but not required.
  • Experience managing projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Experience developing and managing project schedules, budgets, and consultant coordination.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, detailing, permitting, codes, and construction administration.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Bluebeam preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to mentor and support less experienced team members.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through all phases of design and construction, from programming and concept design through construction administration.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact, building trusted relationships and ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and manage project work plans, schedules, staffing, and budgets.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams and oversee project communication among clients, consultants, contractors, and agency reviewers.
  • Lead project meetings, presentations, and decision-making processes.
  • Direct and mentor project team members while maintaining quality control throughout project delivery.
  • Contribute to design direction, technical development, specifications, and construction administration.
  • Support business development efforts through proposal preparation, interviews, and cultivation of client relationships.
  • Champion sustainable, equitable, and community-centered design solutions.
