Job summary

STV, Inc. is seeking multiple Project Architects to join our Buildings practice in Los Angeles, CA and San Francisco, CA.

The role leads design and technical development, coordination, and delivery of varied architectural projects for institutional, transportation, civic, higher education, healthcare, and justice sectors. You will oversee production of coordinated construction documents and guide project teams through all development phases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
• 10+ years of related experience
• Licensure in California required
• Demonstrated strength of technical knowledge & design sensibility
• Demonstrated knowledge of 3D modeling & BIM documentation tools (Revit/Rhino) and industry-typical software
• Demonstrated knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, materials, specs, and construction techniques
• Experience developing CD Sets and coordinating consultants
• Active participation in studio culture

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of one or more projects
• Develop design to meet functional program, budget, environmental and legal requirements
• Manage projects coordinating with consultants and staff to ensure timely completion
• Develop design layouts and frameworks including drawings and specifications
• Lead project scheduling, scope, budgeting, staffing and construction administration
• Prepare studies, reports and technical drawings and present to clients
• Lead and supervise internal design teams through the process
• Follow structured work plans to meet deadlines, budgets and design intent
• Support management of design progress and coordination with clients and consultants
• Write project narratives, specifications and other technical documents
• Build relationships with contractors and consultants to develop new business opportunities
• Ensure QA/QC and codes compliance
• Research design requirements, building codes and project requirements
• Participate in site visits for design accuracy
• Delegate tasks to junior staff and interns
• Provide ongoing support to achieve project milestones
• Assist in scope and schedule definitions for business development
