Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
• 5–8 years of professional architectural experience.
• Proficient in Revit and BIM-based delivery; strong detailing and coordination.
• Experience producing construction documents across phases.
• Knowledge of building codes, accessibility, and life-safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop architectural designs, construction documents, and details using Revit and BIM.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules with high accuracy.
• Participate in conceptual through construction documentation phases.
• Collaborate with Project Architects, PMs, and engineering teams for coordinated solutions.
• Assist research on codes, accessibility, life safety, and zoning for compliance.
• Coordinate models with structural, MEP, civil, and specialty disciplines in BIM.
• Support presentations, design studies, renderings, graphics, and proposals.
• Contribute to quality control and BIM best practices; maintain documentation standards.
• Attend meetings; participate in planning and coordination activities.
• Mentor junior team members on documentation and Revit workflows.
• Assist construction administration including submittals, RFIs, site observations.

Job description

STV is seeking multiple talented and motivated Architectural Designers to join our Buildings practice in Los Angeles, CA and San Francisco, CA.

The Architectural Designer will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of architectural projects serving institutional, transportation, civic, higher education, healthcare, justice, public and private sector clients. Working as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team, this role supports the development of design and construction documents and assists with project coordination across all phases of project development, from conceptual design through construction administration. The ideal candidate is a technically strong architectural professional with advanced Revit capabilities, a passion for design excellence, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders while continuing to develop technical expertise and progress toward architectural licensure.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop architectural designs, construction documents, and technical detailing utilizing Revit and BIM technologies.
• Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and other project documentation with a high level of accuracy and quality.
• Participate in all project phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
• Collaborate closely with Project Architects, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver coordinated design solutions.
• Assist in conducting building code, accessibility, life safety, and zoning research to support project development and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate architectural models with structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultant disciplines within a BIM environment.
• Support the preparation of project presentations, design studies, renderings, graphics, and proposal materials.
• Participate in quality control reviews and help maintain project documentation standards and BIM best practices.
• Attend project meetings and contribute to technical discussions, coordination efforts, and project planning activities.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on project documentation and Revit workflows.
• Support construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site observations, and coordination with contractors, as applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
• 5 to 8 years of professional architectural experience.
• Strong proficiency in Revit and BIM-based project delivery.
• Experience producing construction documents across multiple project phases.
• Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, and life-safety standards.
• Experienced in technical detailing, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Progress toward professional licensure, including active NCARB AXP participation and/or ARE examination progress.
• Experience supporting public-sector, transportation, airport, institutional, healthcare, justice, or civic projects.
• Familiarity with BIM execution planning, model management, clash detection, and multidisciplinary coordination workflows.
• Experience utilizing visualization, rendering, and graphic presentation software such as Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
• Construction administration experience.

Compensation Range:

$102,094.36 - $116,679.27
