Job summary

Fishbeck in Grand Rapids, MI seeks an experienced Architect to collaborate with design teams, develop construction documents, and coordinate with engineers and consultants. The role involves leading construction administration, preparing technical specifications, and mentoring junior staff.

Candidates should have a Master or B.Arch, 5+ years of experience, and preferably licensure. Proficiency in Revit is essential; AutoCAD and BSD Spec Link are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Master of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture Degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience; licensure preferred.
  • Experience with Revit; knowledge of AutoCAD and BSD Spec Link is a bonus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively under demanding deadlines.

Job description

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate with the design team during programming and conceptual phases.
  • Prepare design development and construction documents.
  • Coordinate with in-house engineers and outside consultants.
  • Develop architectural technical specifications.
  • Lead construction administration effort including observation, RFI and submittal review.
  • Assist with departmental duties such as updating technical standards and mentoring of entry level architectural staff.
What We’re Looking For
  • Master of Architecture or Bachelor of Architecture Degree from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience, preferred.
  • Licensure preferred.
  • Experienced in developing projects using Revit.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and BSD Spec Link is a bonus.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Ability to work well with others under demanding deadline situations.
