Job summary

DMC Architecture, a small design firm in MetroWest, seeks an Intermediate Architectural Designer (3–5 years exp) ready to move beyond production into project stewardship. You will support projects from concept sketches to final punch list, with production remaining important.

You should have 3–5 years post-grad experience, a B.Arch or M.Arch, and hands-on site/workshop exposure. Proficiency in ArchiCAD and comfort with AutoCAD are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

The Role

We are seeking an Intermediate Architectural Designer (3–5 years experience) who is ready to move beyond "production" and into true project stewardship. You will support and develop projects through every phase—from the first conceptual sketch to the final construction punch list. Production will remain a large part of the job responsibility, but seeing that production to the next step is important.

What We Are Looking For:

• Technical Rigor: You have 3–5 years of post-graduate experience and a B.Arch or M.Arch. You aren't just drawing lines; you understand how a building goes together.
• The "Maker" Mindset: We highly value candidates with hands-on construction experience. If you’ve spent time on a job site or in a woodshop, we want to hear about it.
• Software Fluency: You are proficient in ArchiCAD (our primary tool) and comfortable with AutoCAD.
• Detail Oriented: You can produce clean Construction Documents, coordinate with Structural/MEP consultants, and maintain design intent without losing sight of the budget.
• Graphic Artistry: You possess strong visual storytelling skills and can communicate complex ideas through clear, elegant graphics.
