Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 0-3 years of professional experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit required; AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to varying project types.
  • Comfortable working independently while seeking guidance when appropriate.
  • Interest in architecture, real estate development, zoning, and urban planning.
  • Knowledge of building codes and zoning regulations is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Produce architectural drawings, permit sets, and construction documents under the supervision of senior staff.
  • Assist with zoning analysis, feasibility studies, code research, and development planning efforts.
  • Develop architectural designs using Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and related software.
  • Conduct existing conditions surveys using Matterport 3D scanning technology and traditional field-measurement methods.
  • Travel to project sites throughout our regional portfolio, including projects from Cape Cod to New Hampshire.
  • Assist with project coordination, consultant communication, and client correspondence.
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits and field documentation.
  • Prepare presentations, graphics, and materials for client meetings, community meetings, and project reviews.
  • Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and municipal officials throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay current on industry trends, building codes, zoning regulations, and emerging technologies.
  • Support general office operations, including receiving and organizing deliveries, maintaining common areas, and providing occasional front desk coverage as needed.

Design Resource Team is seeking a Designer I to join our Boston-based architecture and development advisory firm. You'll work across architectural design, real estate feasibility analysis, zoning strategy, and development advisory on projects throughout Greater Boston and New England.

This role is ideal for someone early in their career—a recent architecture graduate, master's graduate, or someone in their second professional position with strong design fundamentals, attention to detail, and a genuine eagerness to develop across multiple disciplines. You'll work closely with senior designers and firm leadership on live projects, gaining exposure to architectural design, permitting, feasibility studies, client communication, and development strategy.

We're looking for someone who learns quickly, takes feedback well, enjoys solving problems, and brings professionalism and maturity to both client and team interactions.
