Job summary

HDR seeks a Project Architect in Seattle, WA to lead a multidiscipline team on architectural projects and coordinate through project phases. The role includes conducting site sessions with the Project Manager and other disciplines to ensure alignment and timely delivery.

You will review drawings for conflicts, perform QA/QC, write specifications, and manage addenda, RFIs and change orders. The position may include dual management and construction administration as needed, within HDR's

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Registered Architect.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule).
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process.
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
  • Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.

  • Lead projects in a dual management role as needed
  • Provide construction contract administration as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

Job description

In the role of Project Architect, we'll count on you to:

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Experience in the areas of healthcare, education or mission critical (data center)
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
  • Rhino and Grasshopper experience
Note:

This Project Architect role may be aligned with either our Healthcare, Education or Mission Critical (Data Center)/ Industrial group. We welcome candidates with experience in either market, and the position is structured to support strong architectural talent across a range of backgrounds.

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full‑time regular positions. Temporary and part‑time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
