Job summary

HDR is seeking an Architect to contribute to healthcare, education, and mission-critical projects worldwide. You will apply architectural techniques, evaluate alternatives, and lead design decisions with limited supervision.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Architecture, 3+ years of experience, and proficiency with Autodesk Revit; experience in sustainable design and LEED is preferred. Join an employee-owned culture and help shape built environments.

  • Registered Architect status is expected or pursued.

Responsibilities

  • Follow instructions on assignment objectives with limited supervision.
  • Lead architectural tasks with design responsibility on revenue projects.
  • Write reports and specifications covering architectural matters.

In the role of Architect, we'll count on you to:

  • Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment for minor adaptations and modifications
  • Perform assignments with specific objectives, requiring investigation of a limited set of variables
  • Follow instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions
  • Perform architectural assignments with direction, but without immediate supervision and with limited design responsibility
  • Recommend and select procedures
  • Write reports and specification covering architectural matters
  • Take responsibility for phases of individual revenue-producing projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture
  • Experience in the areas of healthcare or mission critical (data center)
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
  • Rhino and Grasshopper experience

Note: Architect role may be aligned with either our Healthcare, Education or Mission Critical (Data Center)/ Industrial group. We welcome candidates with experience in either market, and the position is structured to support strong architectural talent across a range of backgrounds.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
  • A minimum of 3 years experience
  • Registered Architect
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
