Job summary

ENV is seeking a Project Architect to lead the architectural design and development of projects from concept through construction in the Richmond area. You will coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure design objectives, codes, budgets, schedules, and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities include developing drawings and documents, managing schedules, and reviewing deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • Professional architectural experience, preferably with experience leading projects.
  • Architectural registration/licensure preferred or required depending on the position.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural design principles, construction methods, and building codes.
  • Proficiency with architectural design and documentation software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design and development of assigned projects from concept through construction.

  • Coordinate project requirements with clients, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Interpret and apply applicable building codes, zoning regulations, accessibility requirements, and industry standards.
  • Manage project schedules, deliverables, and design milestones.
  • Review drawings and documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Participate in client meetings, design presentations, project coordination meetings, and construction meetings.
  • Coordinate architectural work with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, and other consultants.
  • Assist with project budgets, proposals, contracts, and resource planning.
  • Conduct site visits and assist with construction administration, including responding to requests for information, reviewing submittals, and evaluating field conditions.
  • Identify and resolve design and construction issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architectural staff.
  • Maintain organized project documentation and ensure deliverables are completed according to established standards.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and changes to project leadership and clients.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with established quality standards.
