LaBella Associates is hiring a Project Architect for our Richmond, VA office. You will work with large project teams, coordinate with subconsultants, and support the Project Manager in client meetings and construction administration.

The ideal candidate has 6-10+ years of experience, VA building code knowledge, and strong design/document skills. We seek self-motivated leaders who can communicate effectively, coordinate multi-discipline efforts, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• Registered Architect in the state of Virginia (desirable)
• 6-10+ years of experience
• Experience with VA DGS or government agencies (desirable)
• Knowledge of Virginia State building codes
• Strong design and construction document skills
• Excellent graphic presentation skills
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)

Job description

We are currently hiring a Project Architect in our Architectural division at our Richmond, VA office.

The Architectural Division at LaBella provides comprehensive planning and design services for a wide variety of markets, including State Corrections, Healthcare, K-12 and Higher Education, Sports & Entertainment, Residential, Commercial, and Municipal.

Duties:

The overall expectations of the Project Architect position are to work with large project teams, including outside subconsultants, to ensure that all aspects of the project are being met and completed. An individual in this position needs to be capable of delegating aspects of work to the Project Technician and coordinating with all other disciplines. The Project Architect will assist the Project Manager with client meetings, design team meetings, and construction administration. In addition, the Project Architect must be motivated and capable of performing all duties with minimal guidance.

A successful candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to lead, communicate, coordinate, and motivate. A successful candidate will also possess strong interpersonal, collaboration, and organizational skills, as well as contribute to a positive work environment.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
• Registered Architect in the state of Virginia (desirable but not required)
• 6-10+ years of experience
• Prior experience working with VA DGS and/or other government agencies (desirable but not required)
• Have thorough knowledge and understanding of Virginia State building codes
• Strong technical design and construction document skills
• Well-developed project design and planning skills
• Excellent graphic presentation skills
• CAD experience. (AutoCAD and Revit)
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project)
