The Project and Plant Engineer is responsible for all equipment installations, modifications, plant engineering support, and project engineering.
Responsibilities
- Experience with streamlined Project Management workflows and conducting FEL studies:
- Preliminary evaluation;
- Cost control;
- Work with Engineering for capital project development;
- Bid evaluation;
- Project scheduling and coordination;
- Installation and debugging;
- Analyze repetitive equipment failures and design solutions to reduce maintenance costs and evaluate alternatives;
- Assess the need for equipment replacements and establish replacement programs;
- Assess required maintenance tools and skills for efficient maintenance;
- Identify and report safety hazards related to plant equipment;
- Analyze equipment performance against production requirements;
- Implement design or practice changes through hands-on involvement;
- Train full-time employees, contractors, and agency employees;
- Assist with other duties as assigned by Management;
- Collaborate with Plant Maintenance to develop and recommend budgets;
- Develop short and long-range operating objectives;
- Identify training and development needs and initiate programs;
- Ensure company policies, values, and programs are upheld.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering, with additional training in Project Engineering and/or Project Management;
- 3-5 years of progressive project engineering experience in a heavy industrial environment;
- Knowledge of plant construction practices, equipment installation, etc.;
- Availability for emergencies and off-shift work as needed;
- Ability to travel for projects and meetings.
