Job description

Our client is currently seeking a Lead Engineer (Engineering Manager). This person will report into the Plant Director and lead the Engineering department for the facility. Candidates with previous Mold Shop / Injection Molding Experience will be given the most consideration and they should be able to design & develop new and existing molds utilizing SolidWorks. This is a very people-centric culture with very low turnover that offers excellent work-life balance.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Ensure all building facilities, plant equipment, and molds are maintained for optimum operating efficiency.
• Design and develop new molds and direct improvements for existing molds utilizing SolidWorks.
• Coordinate and direct outside contractor operations through requisition approvals, within scope of authority, and monitoring contractor activities in conjunction with the Managing Director.
• Control cost of supplies, equipment, and labor hours in line with budgetary requirements.
• Collaborate with Accounting to ensure Capital Projects remain within budget.
• Conduct regular meetings with all direct reports to ensure teammates understand how their roles contribute to the organization’s success.
• Develop a managerial plan for achieving department goals.
• Effectively assign tasks, projects, or special assignments and define achievable goals for direct reports.
• Conduct objective performance appraisals for direct reports in alignment with company standards.
• Recommend pay and merit increases for direct reports based on established criteria.
• Coach subordinates to foster an environment of continuous growth.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree Preferred
• 3+ Years of Engineering Leadership within Manufacturing - Managed Direct Reports
• MUST be proficient with SolidWorks & Design Software
• Previous CMMS Experience - Utilize Computer Systems within Maintenance Management
• Prior Experience with Injection Molding Processes with Paper, Corrugated, or Plastics
