Job summary

American Express is seeking a Product Analyst to develop requirements and manage tasks for Agile projects across Global Merchant and Network Services. The role involves breaking down product requirements into user stories, prioritizing backlogs, and coordinating across multiple business units worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across time zones.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and break down product requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Prioritize the scrum backlog with Product Manager and affected teams.
  • Facilitate cross-team calls to resolve issues and ensure alignment.
  • Participate in sprint planning, show‑and‑tell, and program increment planning.

Job description

Acquirer Capabilities – Product Analyst

The Acquirer Capabilities team is at the heart of the proprietary transaction process, powering billions of transactions that enable merchants to be paid and continue welcoming American Express cardmembers. We are looking for an analytical, motivated self‑starter for a Product Analyst role. The analyst will develop requirements and manage project tasks required to deliver small‑to‑large complex projects through Agile methodology and best practices, aligning with the vision and goals of GM&NS (Global Merchant and Network Services) while coordinating multiple American Express business units worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and break down product requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with product managers, product owners, and scrum teams.
  • Prioritize the scrum team’s backlog in collaboration with the Product Manager and other impacted teams, and work to remove impediments.
  • Facilitate calls across project teams and business areas to resolve issues, identify gaps, and ensure alignment between Business Partners and Technologies.
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, show‑and‑tell, and program increment planning.
  • Apply strong organizational, technical, and creative problem‑solving skills to work effectively in a dynamic, complex environment under deadline pressures.
  • Develop a deep understanding of stakeholders’ challenges in merchant onboarding and pricing to support continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate across multiple business teams, and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to accommodate multiple time zones when required.
  • Ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to self‑manage and prioritize competing tasks.
  • Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years Business Analytics experience.
Salary Range

$55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually plus bonus and benefits. Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required; the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
