Job summary

Independent Project Analysis (IPA) is seeking a Project Analyst to meet with clients in person, collect project data, and identify risks. You will analyze information using IPA's models and deliver insights via reports and presentations, with opportunities to lead client engagements and workshops.

The role focuses on industrial projects with travel up to 30 percent, including international trips. Located in the Greater Washington, DC area with a base salary in the 70k–100k USD range.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in economics, engineering, science, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of professional industry experience or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients in person to collect project data and identify risk.
  • Analyze data using IPA's proprietary models and deliver results in reports and presentations to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Lead evaluations and engage with clients at senior levels to improve effectiveness of capital projects.

The Project Analyst Role

IPA Project Analysts meet with clients in person to collect project data and discover areas of risk. After analyzing those data using our proprietary models, the Project Analyst delivers the results in reports and presentations to provide insights and recommendations. As Project Analysts advance within IPA, the role expands to client engagement leadership, system diagnosis and consulting, training and workshop facilitation, and project data analysis and research.

The role focuses on the industrial world, assessing projects and projects systems in different sectors. The role has potential to become a trusted advisor in your specialization in Industry. The Project Analyst will lead evaluations, working with some of the largest and most influential companies in the world to improve the effectiveness of their capital projects.

  • Ability to thrive in a diverse environment, bridge cultural gaps, and build strong relationships across all backgrounds
Education and Experience
  • An advanced degree in economics, engineering, science, or related fields
  • 2+ years of professional industry experience or equivalent
Location and Travel
  • The position is located in Ashburn VA, and candidates must be willing to relocate within commuting distance (the Greater Washington, DC, area [DC/MD/VA])
  • This position is work from office with up to 30 percent travel, including international travel
Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 – $100,000. Compensation is negotiable and based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
