Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group in Roseville, CA is seeking a Project Accounting Manager to lead a team of Project Accountants ensuring financial integrity across revenue recognition, forecasting, billing, collections, and contract administration.

You will partner with regional finance leaders, drive month-end closes, develop standards for performance, train staff, and support audits. Relocation assistance is provided for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• 8–14 years of relevant financial or accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred, CPA preferred.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to travel to support remote teams (10–15%).

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of Project Accountants to ensure financial data integrity including revenue recognition, project forecasting, billing, collections, and contract administration.
• Lead monthly team project review meetings and provide reports on project A/R & cash, risks & opportunities, and WIP analysis.
• Oversee month-end closing process including project reviews, time & expense oversight, invoice reviews, revenue/cost recognition, variances.
• Coordinate with Regional and Design Group Finance leadership on significant project financial matters.
• Develop and maintain standards to manage team performance and capacity across regions.
• Establish regular communication cadence with Project Accountants via updates and presentations.
• Enhance training modules for Project Accountant roles ensuring consistency across regions.
• Assist in developing career paths and mentoring the Project Accounting team.
• Train new Project Accountants with standard training resources.
• Collaborate with Back-Office Accounting on cash, A/R, A/P, and month-end close.
• Provide year-end financial audit support.
