Job summary

Solara Search is seeking a Project Accounting Manager in the Dallas–Fort Worth area to lead the project accounting function. The role focuses on ownership of WIP reporting, job costing, revenue recognition and project financial reporting across multiple construction projects.

The successful candidate will manage and develop a team, partner with Project Managers and operations, and drive process improvements to support a growing business.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in construction or project accounting.
• Supervisory or management experience.
• Strong understanding of WIP, percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing and construction billing.
• Experience in a sizeable construction organisation with multiple projects.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret project financial performance.
• Experience collaborating with operations and project management teams.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders across the business.
• A hands-on approach to improve processes and develop people.

I'm working with an established and growing construction business in the Dallas-Fort Worth area looking to appoint an experienced Project Accounting Manager.

This is a newly created position offering the opportunity to take ownership of the project accounting function, develop an existing team and bring additional structure and efficiencies to a growing business.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, ideally gained within a sizeable organisation managing multiple projects simultaneously.

The Role

• Oversee the day-to-day project accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely financial information across multiple construction projects.
• Manage and develop a team of project accounting professionals.
• Take ownership of WIP reporting, job costing, revenue recognition and project financial reporting.
• Oversee project billing and support accurate revenue and cost allocation.
• Work closely with Project Managers and operational teams to monitor project performance, budgets and profitability.
• Support forecasting, financial analysis and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting accuracy and overall efficiency.
• Ensure the project accounting function operates effectively within a growing and increasingly complex business.

What We're Looking For
