The Project Accountant role supports project managers and principals across offices, handling invoicing, budgeting, and GAAP-adherent accounting to sustain SGH’s Total Compensation approach.

We seek detail-oriented professionals with a accounting background, strong Excel skills, and experience in a related industry. Competitive benefits and 401(k) plan are included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/management.
• 3–7 years of practical general accounting experience.
• Experience in AEC industry or government contracting is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as accounting and finance resource for project managers and principals.
• Review contracts and project documents for financial and reporting requirements.
• Ensure accuracy and proper accounting for job costs and earnings.
• Generate invoices and supporting documentation per contract terms.
• Manage accounts receivable collection and cash reconciliations.
• Prepare ad hoc reports for project managers and management.
• Monitor budget progress and suggest improvements.
• Verify subcontractor and vendor invoices against contracts.
