Job summary

Simpson Gumpertz & Heger seeks a Project Accountant to maintain and manage finances for project teams across SGH offices. You will review contracts, ensure accurate job costing, generate invoices, and support project managers with timely financial data.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in accounting/finance, 3–7 years in general accounting, and proficiency in Excel. Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or management (or equivalent).
• 3–7 years of accounting experience (AP/AR) preferred.
• Experience in AEC industry or government contracting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as accounting and finance resource for project managers and principals.
• Review contracts for financial and reporting requirements.
• Ensure accurate job costing and earnings accounting.
• Generate invoices and supporting documentation per contracts.
• Manage accounts receivable collection and cash receipts reconciliation.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports for management.
• Monitor budget progress and suggest improvements.
• Verify subcontractor and vendor invoices against contracts.
