Job summary

The Project Accountant will maintain and manage finances for Project Managers and Principals across SGH offices, ensuring accurate cost tracking, timely invoicing, and GAAP-compliant reporting.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's in accounting/finance/management, 3–7 years of accounting experience, and familiarity with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or management required.
• 3–7 years of accounting experience preferred.
• AEC industry knowledge a plus; government contracting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as accounting and finance resource for project managers and principals.
• Review contracts and project documents for financial and reporting needs.
• Ensure accurate accounting for job costs and earnings with PMs and principals.
• Generate invoices and supporting documentation per contract terms.
• Manage accounts receivable collections and cash reconciliation.
• Prepare ad hoc reports for project managers and management.
• Monitor budgets and advise on project performance improvements.
• Verify subcontractor invoices for contract compliance.
• Advise on GAAP and firm accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain accounting files and records.
