Job summary

CFS is seeking a Project Accountant to join their accounting and finance team, supporting multiple projects by monitoring costs, preparing reports, managing billing, and partnering with project managers.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in project accounting in a project-based environment, a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or QuickBooks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Project Accounting, Construction Accounting, Cost Accounting, or General Accounting in a project-based environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience preparing and processing AIA billing forms (G702/G703), progress billings, retainage, and change orders.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, Viewpoint, Deltek, Epicor, or QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and analyze project financial reports, forecasts, and cost-to-complete schedules.
• Process customer billings, including progress billing, milestone billing, AIA billing applications (G702/G703), and change orders.
• Prepare, review, and submit AIA payment applications and supporting documentation in accordance with contract requirements.
• Review project-related expenses to ensure accurate coding and compliance with company policies.
• Reconcile project accounts and assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Collaborate with project managers to track financial performance, manage contract billings, and identify budget variances.
• Support contract administration by reviewing project terms, billing requirements, retainage, lien waivers, and revenue recognition.
• Assist with audits and provide financial documentation as needed.
• Perform additional accounting and financial analysis duties as assigned.
