Job summary

Capital 360 is seeking a Project Accountant to manage construction accounting and job costing processes, monitor costs, and deliver financial insights to leadership. You will support billing, AR, and month-end closes while maintaining strong internal controls.

The role offers a flexible structure with a full-time schedule, remote one day per week, and opportunities to grow into leadership positions within the company.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounting experience required, construction accounting and job costing preferred.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered in construction/manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor job costs, labor costs, and project profitability; provide financial insights for leadership decisions.
  • Analyze cost accounting data, inventory transactions, and COGS for accurate reporting.
  • Support billing, AR, and general accounting operations including journal entries, accruals, and monthly close.

What You'll Do as a Project Accountant
  • Monitor job costs, labor costs, and project profitability, providing meaningful financial insights that help leadership make informed business decisions.
  • Analyze cost accounting data, inventory transactions, and cost of goods sold (COGS) to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational performance.
  • Support billing, accounts receivable, and general accounting operations, including journal entries, accruals, and monthly close activities.
  • Maintain and improve job costing, labor tracking, and financial analysis tools to support project and company performance.
  • Perform reconciliations (balance sheet, bank, and credit cards), assist with fixed assets, and help prepare financial statements for management.
  • Partner with leadership to identify trends, improve processes, and strengthen financial controls as the company continues to grow.
Our Ideal Project Accountant
  • Experienced: 3+ years of accounting experience required. Experience with construction accounting and job costing is preferred. Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred. Equivalent accounting experience, particularly in construction or manufacturing environments, will also be considered.
  • Financially Analytical: Understands cost accounting principles, project profitability, inventory transactions, labor costing, and financial reporting. Able to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Computer Savvy: Working knowledge of ERP and double-entry accounting systems. Has knowledge of and experience with standard accounting software such as Foundations, Great Plains, Sage, and Peachtree.
  • Detail-oriented: Strong organizational skills with careful attention to financial accuracy, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Reliable: Manages deadlines effectively and takes ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities.
  • Collaborative: Communicates clearly, works well with others, and is comfortable asking questions to ensure accuracy and understanding.

  • Full-time position, typically 40-45 hours per week, with a flexible start time and the option to work remotely one day per week
