Job summary

RealREPP, a national construction-focused firm, seeks a Project Accountant to manage cost reporting, billing, and vendor compliance on a major project. You will coordinate billings, analyze costs, and support the Project Manager across the full project life cycle.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance with 3–5 years of project accounting experience in construction, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of project accounting experience preferred, ideally within construction.
• Strong accounting knowledge with analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Compile, prepare, and analyze monthly project billings per contract requirements.
• Reconcile project costs versus the approved project budget.
• Process project accounts payable and subcontractor payables accurately.
• Manage vendor compliance including insurance, lien waivers, retention, and W-9 documentation.
• Produce and analyze job-cost tracking reports to monitor performance and profitability.
• Assist in preparing status reports and maintain accurate project information and budget data in COINs.
• Identify, research, and resolve routine and complex project-related accounting issues.
• Support project risk management with proper documentation and controls.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive financial information.
• Prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.

RealREPP, a full-service recruiting firm, is currently partnering with a growing, stable, and nationally recognized construction firm to assist them in hiring a Project Accountant in undefined, undefined.

This role is responsible for coordinating all phases of construction job costing, ensuring accuracy and integrity across project financials, and supporting the Project Manager throughout the full project life cycle. The Project Accountant prepares and analyzes billings, monitors project performance, manages vendor compliance, and resolves accounting issues—playing a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy, risk mitigation, and operational excellence on a large-scale construction project.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience) preferred.
• 3–5 years of project accounting experience preferred, ideally within construction.
• Strong accounting knowledge with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and professional discretion.
• Proficient computer skills, including intermediate-to-expert ability in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to multitask and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
