Job summary

Tiello, in partnership with a leading General Contractor in the West Palm Beach area, seeks an experienced Project Accountant to oversee billing, subcontractor and project payable processes and to track financial progress through reporting and analysis in line with contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Attend turnover meetings for new jobs and set up project folders.
• Input contract information and budgets into the system; manage change orders and POs.
• Prepare project billing worksheets and assist with monthly AIA billings.
• Generate AIA billings for owners and review job-related check requests.
• Process accounts payable for job-related invoices and review overhead statements.
• Post monthly activity for AR/AP and participate in monthly project reviews.

Job Title: Project Accountant (General Contractor)

Location: Boca Raton, FL

Salary: $80k - $90k

Tiello has partnered with a leading General Contractor in the West Palm Beach, FL area who is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join their team.

Project Types: Retail, Restaurants, Hospitality (Construction)

Position Summary: The Project Accountant will be responsible for the billing and subcontractor and project payable process of the projects and responsible for tracking the financial progress of projects through reporting and analysis of financial data in accordance with company and client contractual and compliance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Attends turn-over meetings for all assigned new jobs.
• Sets up and maintains a separate electronic network “Project Folder” for each assigned job and files all documents including owner documents, owner change orders, billings, check copies, etc.
• Inputs contract information and budgets into computer system.
• Inputs change orders, Material Purchase orders, purchase orders, and sub mods
• Prepares project billing worksheet to provide to Project Manager to prepare monthly AIA billings.
• Generates AIA billings to the owners.
• Reviews and approves all job-related check requests.
• Processes all accounts payable as it relates to job-related invoices.
• Reviews overhead statements to ensure that all job-related invoices are in and ready to be paid.
• Prepares the Project Accountant Checklist on a weekly basis and submits to CFO and Controller.
• Posts all monthly activity timely for the month end close for Accounts Receivable and Payable.
• Attends all monthly project review and close out meetings for all assigned jobs.
• Works on special projects for accounting, as assigned.

• Knowledge of Procore a plus.
