ChenMoore is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support the financial success of civil engineering projects. You will partner with Project Managers to oversee setup, budgeting, billing, and financial reporting throughout project lifecycles.

The role emphasizes accurate financial information delivery, profitability analysis, and strong internal controls to drive project performance and overall firm success.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of relevant experience in a project-based accounting environment.
• Experience in civil engineering, architecture, or professional services preferred.
• Strong understanding of: project accounting principles; billing methods (percent complete, time & expense, not-to-exceed, etc.); job costing and budgeting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

• Project Financial Management: Set up new projects in the ERP system, including contract values, billing terms, revenue methods, and budgets.
• Monitor project performance, including labor, expenses, consultant costs, and profitability.
• Analyze budget vs. actual performance and earned revenue.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to maintain accurate budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure proper project coding and cost allocation.
