P1 Service, LLC., in Lenexa, KS, is seeking a Project Accountant to manage financial aspects of assigned projects, including budget monitoring, cost tracking, billing, and financial reporting. You will work with project managers and the accounting team to ensure accurate project financials and timely invoicing.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 1–3 years of project or construction accounting experience; proficiency with Excel and accounting software; GAAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in project accounting or construction accounting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Knowledge of GAAP and project accounting principles.
• Knowledge of sales tax.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and track project costs including labor, materials, subcontractors, and overhead.
• Prepare and process project billing and invoicing per contract terms.
• Maintain accurate project financial records and job cost accounting.
• Prepare monthly project financial reports and forecasts.
• Reconcile project budgets to actual costs and identify variances.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes for project accounting.
• Support project audits and provide documentation as required.
• Analyze project profitability and prepare financial analysis reports.
• Ensure compliance with contract billing requirements and federal/state regulations.
• Maintain relationships with clients regarding billing inquiries and payment issues.
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting for new and ongoing projects.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of project accounting systems.
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
