Job summary

Vierbicher Associates Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant to oversee the financial lifecycle of multiple civil engineering and professional services projects from setup through closeout.

You will work with Project Managers and the finance team to ensure profitability, accurate billing, and timely financial reporting. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, 4+ years in project accounting, and proficiency with ERP systems like Deltek, Ajera, BST, QuickBooks or NetSuite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Minimum 4+ years of project accounting experience.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software and project-based billing.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to model financials.
• Excellent communication and analytical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Set up new projects, task codes, budgets and billing terms in ERP.
• Monitor costs, revenues, margins, and burn rates vs budgets.
• Generate client invoices and coordinate monthly pre-bills with PMs.
• Track AR, payments and delinquent accounts; assist collections.
• Code subconsultant invoices and track lien waivers; ensure P.O. alignment.
• Prepare project profitability reports and assist in close processes.
