Job summary

Core States Group is hiring a Project Accountant for a hybrid role with offices in Ontario, CA; Duluth, GA; or Kent, WA. You will manage the full lifecycle of project accounting, including setup, billing, reporting, and closeout, partnering with project managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of project accounting experience, including billing and receivables, in a professional services firm.
• Experience applying AI or automation tools to accounting, billing, reporting, or other business processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with AI, Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint, Vision, or Ajera is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly billing in conjunction with Project Managers and finalize invoices.
• Submit final invoices and statements to Project Managers/clients by internal deadlines.
• Prepare monthly pay applications and lien waivers; upload to client portals.
• Review contracts for billing and payment terms; ensure policy compliance.
• Set up projects and apply contract requirements to revenue, cost, and forecasts by task and rates.
• Manage project accounting lifecycle: creation, tracking, invoicing, AR, closeout.
• Monitor unbilled items and milestone-based billing; update rates as needed.
• Support collections and project receivables as needed.
• Maintain organized project/client records and paperwork.
