Our client, a manufacturing company based in Woodstock, GA, is seeking a Project Accountant to manage the financial side of individual projects and job orders—from cost tracking through billing and closeout.

This role partners with project managers, production, and operations to ensure accurate project tracking and margins. It offers hands-on experience with job-costing in a manufacturing environment and ownership over project financials.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project/job-cost accounting in manufacturing or related industry.
• Experience with job costing, WIP schedules, and cost variance analysis.
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs; familiarity with ERP software.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects onsite.
• Strong cross-functional communication with project managers and production teams.
• Onsite work five days/week in Woodstock, GA.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain project/job costing and track actuals vs budget.
• Reconcile costs monthly and flag variances to leadership.
• Maintain WIP schedules across all active projects.
• Process change orders and align budgets with billing.
• Support month-end close for project revenue and costs.
• Assist with inventory and production cost accounting.
• Prepare project profitability reports for leadership.
• Support audits of project financials.

Our client, a manufacturing company based in Woodstock, GA, is seeking a Project Accountant to manage the financial side of individual manufacturing projects and job orders — from cost tracking through billing and closeout. This role partners closely with project managers, production, and operations teams to ensure every project is tracked accurately and delivering the margin it was scoped for. It's a great fit for someone who wants ownership over job-level financials in a hands‑on manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and maintain project/job costing, tracking actual costs against budgeted labor, materials, and overhead for each manufacturing project. Reconcile job costs monthly and flag variances to project managers and leadership. Maintain and report on WIP (work-in-progress) schedules across all active projects. Process and track change orders, ensuring scope changes are properly reflected in project budgets and billing. Manage project billing and invoicing in line with contract terms and milestones. Collaborate with project managers and production teams to keep budgets current as projects progress. Support month-end close as it relates to project-level revenue recognition and cost accruals. Assist with inventory and production cost accounting as it intersects with project cost tracking. Prepare project profitability reports for leadership review. Support internal and external audit requests related to project financials.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of project/job-cost accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing or a related industrial environment
• Working knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and cost variance analysis
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs); comfort working with ERP/job-costing software
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously
• Strong communication skills to work cross-functionally with project managers and production teams
• Ability to work onsite 5 days/week in Woodstock, GA

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, Sage, or similar)
• Experience with inventory/production cost accounting
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
