Job description

Technical Source is seeking a Project Accountant/Cost Analyst specializing in construction cost data (preferably life sciences or similar industry experience). This role offers a hybrid work schedule and is local to the Raleigh, NC area. See additional details below:

Key Responsibilities

• Support cost management for various projects from project kickoff through completion, with assignments not limited to one geographic region.
• Set up and manage project budgets, adjusting as projects evolve; independently understand and execute full cost management processes, not just isolated tasks.
• Monitor project costs, ensuring costs are correctly attributed and aligned with budgets; analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare, analyze, and present cost reports and forecasting for ongoing projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and team members to ensure financial accuracy and provide clear, actionable insights.
• Maintain a professional presence, including strong verbal and written communication; contribute positively to client’s image with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in onboarding and periodic in-person meetings or site visits as needed (travel is minimal and not mandatory).

Qualifications

• Previous experience (ideally 2–5+ years) in a cost analyst, cost engineering, or project controls role within construction or related industries.
• Solid understanding of the entire cost project lifecycle and ability to manage budgets from setup through completion.
• Proficiency in cost management and reporting software; experience with D360 or similar preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both written (e.g., error-free emails) and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and proactively manage assignments with minimal supervision.
• Adaptable, collaborative, and able to quickly integrate with new project teams.
