Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Permanent Project Accountant to lead the financial management of active construction projects. The role partners with Project Managers to track budgets, cost codes, and subcontractor/GC accounts while managing the full billing lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and at least 5 years in project accounting, preferably in construction. Strong analytical, communication, and Excel skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required.
  • 5+ years of project accounting experience, construction preferred.
  • Proficient in job costing, Viewpoint, change orders, subcontractors, AIA billing, pay applications, lien waivers, WIP, T&M, and percentage of completion.
  • Strong accounting knowledge with emphasis on project accounting.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • MS Office Suite, especially Excel; accounting software proficiency.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial aspects of assigned projects, including job costing, change orders, and subcontractor/general contractor accounts.
  • Use Viewpoint to maintain accurate project financial data.
  • Prepare and submit AIA billings and pay applications monthly.
  • Collaborate with project managers on budgets, cost codes, and purchase orders.
  • Process lien waivers and ensure timely paperwork.
  • Maintain WIP schedule and provide timely updates to management.
  • Monitor T&M and percentage of completion across projects.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide financial analysis and forecasting for projects.

Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated Permanent Project Accountant to join our thriving Accounting and Finance team. This role will be instrumental in providing financial information and undertaking related accounts administration for our various projects. Responsibilities
  • Managing all financial aspects of assigned projects, including job costing, change orders, subcontractor and general contractor accounts.
  • Utilizing the viewpoint system to maintain accurate and updated project financial data.
  • Preparing, reviewing and submitting AIA billings and pay applications on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborating with project managers to review project budgets, cost codes, and purchase orders.
  • Processing lien waivers and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed and submitted on time.
  • Maintaining the WIP schedule and providing timely updates to the management team.
  • Monitoring and tracking T&M and percentage of completion on assigned projects.
  • Performing account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, and resolving all irregularities promptly.
  • Providing financial analysis and forecasting for projects, identifying potential areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a project accounting role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in job costing, viewpoint, change orders, subcontractors, general contractor, AIA billing, pay applications, lien waivers, WIP, T&M, and percentage of completion.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, with a specific focus on project accounting.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
