Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant to join the Finance department of a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm. The role supports billing, project setup, and financial reporting across infrastructure projects nationwide.

The ideal candidate will handle invoices, project creation in accounting software with budgets and terms, investigate client payments, and prepare standard reports. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• Associate degree in accounting/finance/business with 2 years invoicing experience.
• If no degree, at least 4 years of invoicing or billing experience.

Responsibilities

• Process invoices for assigned department managers.
• Create projects in our accounting software with billing terms and budgets.
• Investigate client payments and outstanding invoice inquiries.
• Assist with research and resolution of client questions.
• Run standard reports and support financial reporting and project billing.
• Update finance processes and procedures in collaboration with managers.

Education

Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/business

Associate degree in accounting/finance/business with 2 years invoicing experience

4+ years invoicing or billing experience without degree

• In this role you will partner closely with project managers and finance team members to ensure accurate, timely billing and support the financial health of projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Processing invoices for assigned department managers
• Creating projects in our accounting software, including billing terms and project budgets
• Investigating client payments and outstanding invoice inquiries
• Assisting with research and resolution of client questions
• Running standard reports
• Working closely with project managers and department managers to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting, and project billing
• Compiling and updating finance processes and procedures

Some travel may be required.

The successful candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, business, or related field

--OR--

• An associate degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, business, or related field and two (2) years of relevant invoicing or billing experience

--OR--

• If no degree, at least four (4) years of relevant invoicing or billing experience

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• Experience with computerized financial accounting systems
• Knowledge of overall financial management
• Knowledge of engineering and architectural services
• Knowledge of Deltek Vision or Dynamics
• Knowledge of professional accounting practices

Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 hourly - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set, or location.
