Job summary

CFS in Libertyville, IL is seeking a Project Accountant to join our family-led organization. You will prepare and submit invoices, manage billing documentation, and coordinate with PMs and leaders to support cash flow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 2–4 years in project accounting, project billing, or AR.
• Strong Excel and Office suite skills.
• Experience with CMiC is a plus; knowledge of Google Workspace is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit invoices, pay estimates, lien waivers, and billing docs.
• Track project billings and collections to ensure cash flow.
• Monitor payment cycles, forecasting, and collection schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractor and supplier payments with AP.
• Manage contract values, funding status, and change orders.
• Support project-specific cash management reporting.

Key Responsibilities For The Project Accountant

• Prepare and submit invoices, pay estimates, lien waivers, and contract-related billing documentation
• Track project billings and collections to ensure timely cash flow
• Monitor project payment cycles, forecasting, and collection schedules
• Coordinate subcontractor and supplier payments with Accounts Payable teams
• Manage contract values, funding status, and change order tracking
• Support project-specific cash management planning and reporting

Qualifications For The Project Accountant

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2-4 years of project accounting, project billing, accounts receivable, or related experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Experience with Google Workspace; CMiC experience is a plus
