Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join a fast-paced construction environment on site in the East Bay. You will support multiple projects from inception to completion and manage job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.

The role emphasizes strong Excel skills, proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline) and Procore, and collaboration with project managers, operations teams, and accounting leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project accounting experience within the construction industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and construction accounting.
• Experience with Sage 300 (Timberline) and Procore preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting activities for multiple active construction projects.
• Track project budgets, costs, commitments, change orders, and job profitability.
• Prepare and analyze job cost reports and assist project managers with financial reporting.
• Process subcontractor invoices, lien releases, and progress billings.
• Support monthly WIP reporting and project revenue recognition.
• Reconcile project-related accounts and investigate cost variances.
• Assist with owner billings, AIA billing, and collections.
• Monitor contract compliance and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, operations teams, and accounting leadership to ensure financial accuracy.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to project accounting.

Construction company is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join their team. This onsite role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and has experience supporting multiple projects from inception through completion. Experience with Procore and Sage 300 (Timberline) is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting activities for multiple active construction projects.
• Track project budgets, costs, commitments, change orders, and job profitability.
