Job summary

Artemis Professionals, LLC is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to support accounting and financial operations for a growing construction firm. The role covers billing, job costing, AP/AR, compliance reporting, and month-end close.

The ideal candidate has construction project experience and shows ownership while collaborating with office and field teams. Responsibilities include managing billings, maintaining project records, processing change orders, and assisting with year-end reporting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience in construction, contracting, or project-based environments.
• Experience with construction billing, project accounting, or job costing.
• Working knowledge of WIP accounting and project financial tracking is highly preferred.
• Experience with Sage or a comparable accounting/ERP system is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction progress billings, customer invoicing, and related project documentation.
• Maintain accurate and organized contract, billing, lien release, and project accounting records.
• Prepare and track change order documentation and related billing activity.
• Set up new projects within the accounting system and support financial closeout upon project completion.
• Prepare union-related reporting and payments, as applicable.
• Support prevailing wage requirements, certified payroll reporting, and other applicable labor compliance reporting.
• Assist with business and regulatory compliance requirements, including licensing and required project documentation.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities across multiple projects.
• Review, code, and process vendor invoices and reconcile corporate credit card activity.
• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with general accounting activities throughout the month.
• Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Assist with work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, job costing, and project profitability reporting.
• Coordinate with external accounting partners on year-end reporting, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Provide additional accounting and operational support as business needs arise.
