Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Tooling Specialist IV - Progressive Die Technician for the 2nd shift. Training on 1st shift for 1-2 months will be provided.

You will prepare, set up and install large multi-station progressive dies into punch presses to form metal parts, and you will adjust processes as needed to meet production and quality standards. Responsibilities include complete die setup, reading prints, using micrometers and calipers, and ensuring first article

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years related experience in repair and maintenance of progressive dies or equivalent experience in fastener manufacturing.
• Knowledge of tool room equipment including mills, lathes and grinders.
• Ability to read and interpret manufacturer drawings and product prints.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments like micrometers, calipers, and depth micrometers.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up multi-station progressive dies and punch presses.
• Set up compound/diverse dies for all punch presses as required.
• Read prints and rework converts to produce new parts.
• Test die clearance and verify parts against drawings for first article.
