Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Progressive Care/Step-Down Unit at IU Health Saxony in Fishers. The role supports patients needing intermediate-acuity care with continuous monitoring and timely interventions.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of acute-care experience, an active Indiana RN license, BLS and ACLS, and the ability to escalate concerns promptly while educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• Requires ASN; BSN preferred.
• Active Indiana RN license or NLC required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required or obtained within organization timeline.
• Minimum of two years of acute-care nursing experience.
• National specialty certification (PCCN/CCRN) preferred.
• Charge nurse/preceptor/shared-governance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments; escalate changes promptly.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, respiratory status and labs.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy and case management.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment and discharge needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EHR.
• Support safety, teamwork, and service excellence.
