Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital, a Campus of Duke University Health System, Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit. This regular position emphasizes independent planning and delivery of professional nursing care per physician orders and unit policies.

The role requires an accredited BSN, NC RN licensure with BLS, and at least 12 months of clinical experience. Candidates should be prepared to lead a nursing team and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited BSN program is required.
• Must have current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina. BLS required.
• Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience required; exceptional performers with 6 months may be eligible at manager's discretion.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care per physician orders and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise other licensed and unlicensed staff.
• Act as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit as assigned.
• Monitor and maintain environment of care, equipment and resources.
• Participate in own professional development and seek appropriate educational offerings.
• Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and learners.
• Identify clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and participate in improvement activities.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
