Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Baltimore, MD. The RN will deliver care to telemetry and progressive care patients under supervision, using sound clinical judgment and critical thinking.

Applicants must hold an RN license in the state, with CPR if applicable, and meet all regulatory requirements. The role requires adherence to nursing standards and safe, efficient patient care in a fast-paced unit.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices.
• One year progressive care unit experience preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care to telemetry/progressive care patients.
• Make clinical judgments with supervision and demonstrate critical thinking.
• Coordinate patient care with efficient teamwork and communication.
• Adhere to nursing standards and maintain accountability for care.
• Support transitions between step-down or intermediate units when needed.

The Progressive Care Unit RN, assumes the responsibility andaccountability for delivering patient care to telemetry/progressive carepatients. The Progressive Care Unit RN demonstrates the ability to makeclinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision. Thisindividual employs critical thinking and performance ability in thecoordination of patient care, consistently performs according to nursingstandards, and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others inthe management of patient care. TheProgressive Care Unit RN is sometimes also called a step-down nurse, cardiacstepdown, neuro stepdown, surgical stepdown and in some medical centers, thePCU is also known as a transition or intermediate unit.

• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which thenurse practices
• One year prior professional nursing experience preferredwith one year progressive care unit experience preferred
• Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
