Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU-7W) in Mesa, Arizona. The role focuses on routine patient care, data collection, and collaboration with the care team for high-acuity patients across a diverse range of diagnoses.

This full-time day shift (6am–6:30pm) includes weekend rotations, with a weekend differential and a 18% night shift differential when applicable, on a growing unit within Banner Desert Medical Center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice is required for new hires and transfers.
• Must possess excellent organizational skills and effective human relations and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine patient care to promote comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care.
• Collects patient data including vital signs and documentation in the EMR.
• Recognizes and reports changes in patient health status to a licensed professional.
• Performs procedures and uses equipment under supervision; assists with orders and charting as needed.
• Maintains supplies and supports communication and flow within the department.
• Transports patients when needed and participates in unit turnover.
