Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Progress OpenEdge API Developer for a long-term contract to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications using Progress OpenEdge technologies.

You will work with architects, business stakeholders, QA, and IT teams to strengthen API-driven architectures for an AI transformation, building APIs from the Progress OpenEdge Claims processing platform and delivering REST/SOAP services with high performance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on Progress OpenEdge development experience.
• Proficiency in Progress OpenEdge 11.7 & 12.2, PASOE and AppServer.
• Experience building SOAP/REST web services and API integrations.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain OpenEdge applications and APIs via REST and SOAP.
• Collaborate with architects, stakeholders, QA and IT teams to strengthen API-driven architectures for AI transformation.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability; troubleshoot production issues.
• Provide production support and root-cause analysis.

Job description

Job Type: contract (long term contract probably 2 years plus and they are also open to permanent for the right candidate)

What you will be doing:

• As a Progress OpenEdge API Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable enterprise applications using Progress OpenEdge technologies.
• You will be a valued member of the Application Development team and work collaboratively with architects, business stakeholders, QA teams, and cross-functional IT teams to help strengthen API-driven architectures for our client who is starting their AI transformation. Because of AI Chat bots they will be developing, they will need to build the APIs from their Progress OpenEdge Claims processing platform which is one of their largest applications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Progress OpenEdge Build and support REST and SOAP web services for system integrations.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide ongoing support

What you need to have to be considered:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Progress OpenEdge development.
• Proficiency in Progress OpenEdge (11.7 & 12.2), PASOE, AppServer, and GUI programming.
• Proven experience with object-oriented programming in OpenEdge Hands-on experience building web services (SOAP/REST) and system integrations.
• Hands-on experience building APIs to help strengthen API-driven architectures for new AI Chat bots.
• Extend solutions to modern web-based integrations.
• Deliver high-quality OpenEdge application development across the full SDLC Drive integration solutions using APIs, XML, and JSON.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Provide production support and resolve complex technical issues when needed.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Plusses include:

• Experience with .NET OpenClient development.
• Knowledge of Claims domain.
• Familiarity with SVN and SQL Support hybrid architectures through .NET interoperability.
• Bring domain expertise to accelerate delivery in claims-based environments.
