Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Programs Specialist to provide administrative and program coordination for detainee services, including counseling, education, religious and other services.

The role supports the Programs Manager with reporting and compliance across correctional programs. You will work with security and program partners to evaluate and implement services, maintain records, and help identify gaps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent organization, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to understand and follow moderately complex instructions; make minor decisions per rules and regulations.
• Ability to work with computers and standard department software.

Responsibilities

• Assist Programs Manager by evaluating and preparing detailed performance reports for correctional program areas.
• Coordinate detainee programming with correctional program partners.
• Coordinate program implementation with Security to address detainee idleness.
• Provide information and referrals on internal programs (religious, educational, medical/mental health care).
• Identify service gaps within correctional programs and propose improvements.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of program participants and generate status reports.
• Coordinate volunteer background checks and ensure compliance with security requirements.
• Collaborate with Recreational staff to develop additional programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
